"Why Did I Record This FREE DVD?"
Hi! My name is Johnny Ellis. Let me tell you how I got started…ever since I was a teenager I wanted to be an F.B.I.agent. Later on during college, life provided me with an interesting opportunity when I least expected it and two weeks before graduating from the University of Hawaii with a double degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice and a minor in Cellular Molecular Biology I was asked if I would be interested in teaching since I needed a job.
It was a challenge and I thought it would be good experience to put on the resume and it would only be for a little while until I decided when and where I was going to move to start my career in law Enforcement. So I took the job and began working with "At Risk Youth" students at the high school level. However, after a year of experimentation in the teaching field I realized how much I loved working with kids and how much helping people was a part of who I am.
Thus, I decided to make a change, go back to school to get my credential and my Masters in Special Education with an Emphasis on Moderate to Severe Disabilities. Since that day I decided to make the change I have been happily working with children and families with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and children with Autistic like behaviors ever since. However, just because I wanted to work with children with special needs didn’t mean I was able to shape children’s behaviors from the beginning.
